Is it even worth buying one used? Like the price difference is almost negligible.

Buy a wrangler if you hate having fun

If you have the money to buy it new I'd say go for it. Jeeps and Tacoma have crazy high resale value

That’s the only vehicle I can think of that refuses to follow the typical rules of depreciation.

Not worth it at all buying used unless you’re looking for a specific one or color that you can’t get new for some reason...

The Wrangler and the Land Cruiser are two cars I’d just as soon buy new (sorry Tavarish). Not that I’d ever buy a Wrangler, not my cup o tea.

I was shopping the JKU and the Taco for a bit. Needed something with some utility, could haul the kid, camping, etc. but for that kind of money you're in full size pickup territory and the quality of the interiors are pretty bad.

New is the only way to go for either a Taco or Jeep.

I looked for those for a while before I landed on the Allroad. Everyone was basically saying it would be a horrible commuter car if that would be it’s primary function to pass

Even like, old ones are expensive. Used prices on TJ’s that aren’t beat to shit are ridiculous. XJ’s are getting that way too now, for one in decent shape.

Clearly, you’ve never driven one.

Wrangler prices are nuts, no point in buying used. Same as Tacomas.

Might as well buy a new one to get the full warranty and Jeep Wave. Well worth the minimal price difference.

Seriously. If you can’t stomach depreciation there are 2 options outside of the normal go-to toyotas. The Wrangler, and the STI.

New is the way to go. The worst deal you can get on a new on is 1% below invoice, which you can get automatically by joining Tread Lightly. If you carpet bomb internet sales folks, you can typically get 90% of sticker. A dealer will retail a 20k, 2 year old model for about 90% of sticker, so new is a better option in my opinion.

I just traded a 2007 with 175k miles, body damage and generally abused, and got 12k for vehicle I paid 21k originally. Yes, resale is good.

Being literally the only car of it’s kind helps that a bit I would imagine.

I don’t like the way they drive, but I say they aren't fun. Just being the only 4x4 convertible ups the fun factor a considerable amount. Hell, I want a 2 door for that reason only, although there is no way it would be my DD
